2020 Family Camp at Camp Norse (cancelled)
We’ll be going to Camp Norse on the weekend of June 12 – 14, 2020 for Family Camp Session 2! All Pack 313 families are invited (including younger and older siblings), and Pack families can also invite other families that they think would enjoy the Cub Scout camping experience.
In contrast to Pack camping at Lone Tree, this Family Camping weekend includes food (with meals in the dining hall) and great full-time staff to keep us all entertained. Everyone who registers can participate in all activities, although younger siblings may need parental help for some of them.
You can get information and register here: http://www.narragansettbsa.org/event/2522900 Camp Norse needs participants to register by June 5 at the latest. When you get to the Group Information page, for “Pack Number & Community”, write “Arlington Pack 313”. The rest of the registration will be specific to your family. If/when you do register, please let me know so our Pack will know who to expect. The camp has some alternatives to tent camping, but they fill up quickly (and are probably will be a bit away from our tent sites).
About Camp Norse Family Camp:
Family Camp sessions are for Cub Scouts and their families (parents and siblings). Camp Norse (Kingston, MA, which is near Plymouth) has several Friday night – Sunday morning sessions during the summer. The cost is $60 per person and includes a group campsite (so plan to bring a tent), all meals (in the dining hall), and activities — a rustic version of Club Med. The activities (for kids and grown-ups) include archery, BB guns, an obstacle course, a BMX bike course (bikes included) and a lake waterfront with swimming, boating, and fishing. If your family hasn’t gone camping before, this is a great introduction — no need to organize food and activities. During the day, you can move from activity to activity whenever you want.
