Annual Pack Fishing Derby on Sunday, June 2nd
The annual Pack 313 Fishing Derby will take place on Sunday, June 2nd from 8-11 AM, rain or shine, at Horn Pond in Woburn! We will meet in the grassy area along Sturgis Street, which is at the northern end of the Pond. If you are using a GPS or MapQuest, I suggest you enter 53 Sturgis Street as your destination. There’s a small parking lot on the left hand side as you come down Sturgis St. from Arlington St., and there’s also parking permitted along the Street, which is fairly quiet. The Pack will provide worms and some extra tackle. You should bring your fishing rods, and tackle. For anyone who does not have fishing gear, we recommend a simple, inexpensive (i.e. $10 or so) rod and reel package from Target or Arlington Bait & Tackle at 84 Mass Ave in Arlington (just before Alewife Pkwy on right hand side heading towards Cambridge). Their tel. # is 781-646-5598. It is also recommended that you take it out of the package before the fishing derby on Sunday morning. Maybe this week you can try some practice casting in your backyard! Our new Boy Scouts are also welcome to join! Hope to see all of you there and GOOD LUCK!
