Hello Scouts and Parents,
I was asked about what items to bring on the camping trip to camp Massasoit, here is a list of items that I could is a good starting point. If you think of something important that is missing from the list, please share with the group.
- Sleeping bags
- Pillows (for wimps)
- Tent
- Tarp/ground cloth
- Plastic Tarp
- Airbed/Foam Mats/Folding Cot (again, for wimps)
- Portable air mattress inflator (charge before leaving!)
- Headlamps or flashlights, extra batteries.
- Towels
- Bug Spray, Bug Spray, Bug Spray
- Swimsuits and flip-flops/sandals
- Baseball hats/sunglasses
- Warm clothes, Sweatshirt
- Extra dry clothes
- PJ’s
- Night time snacks
- Cooler with water bottles?
- Small first aid kit, Band-Aids, aspirin or Tylenol
- Sunscreen
- Folding chairs
- Toiletries
- Rope for clothes line
- Trash bags for trash and keeping the dry stuff dry.
- Camera
- Dry firewood

PS A great time was had at the camp. Here are a few pictures:
The annual Pack 313 Fishing Derby will take place on Sunday, June 13th from 8-11 AM, rain or shine, AT A NEW LOCATION, Horn Pond in Woburn!
We will meet in the grassy area along Sturgis Street, which is at the northern end of the Pond. If you are using a GPS or Mapquest, I suggest you enter 53 Sturgis Street as your destination. There’s a small parking lot on the left hand side as you come down Sturgis St. from Arlington St., and there’s also parkng permitted along the Street, which is fairly quiet. Here is the Google Map to the location.
The Pack will provide worms and some extra tackle. You should bring your fishing rods, and tackle. For anyone who does not have fishing gear, we recommend a simple, inexpensive (i.e. $10 or so) rod and reel package from Target. It is also recommended that you take it out of the package before the fishing derby on Sunday morning. Maybe this weekend you can try some practice casting in your backyard!
